year the church raises money at Christmas for the Children's Society. We stage a
number of Christingle services and these generate sizeable sum of money
from the collection plate. The church also goes carol singing around
the local estates and again this helps raise money for the children's society
HISTORY
of the CHILDREN'S SOCIETY
Since 1881 The Children's Society has been reaching out to vulnerable children and young people. Over a century later,
their work remains as vital and as pioneering as ever. Today, The Children's Society is a Christian, child-centred, social justice organisation with an unconditional belief in the child, and every year
they work with thousands of children and young people on the edge of society.
