Dear God ~ I want to thank you for what you have
already done in my life
I am not going to wait until things in my life
look better
I am not going to wait until people say they are
sorry
I am not going to wait until the pain in my body
disappears
I am not going to wait until my financial
situation improves
I am not going to wait until I get the job
I am not going to wait until the journey gets
easier
I am not going to wait until I understand every
experience in my life that
has caused me pain or grief; I am thanking you
right now.
I am thanking you because I am alive.
I am thanking you because I made it through the
day's difficulties.
I am thanking you because I have walked around
the obstacles.
I am thanking you because I have the ability and
the opportunity to do more and do better.
Most of all, I'm thanking you, God…
because you haven't given up on me.
THE
PERFECT CHURCH
If you should find the perfect church
Without one fault or smear,
For goodness sake
don’t join that church
You’d spoil the atmosphere.
If you should find the perfect church
Where all anxieties cease,
Then pass it by, lest joining it
You spoil the masterpiece.
If you should find the perfect church
Then don’t you ever dare
To tread upon such holy ground
You’d be a misfit there.
But since no perfect church exists,
Made of perfect men,
Let’s cease on looking for that church,
And love the church we’re in.
Of course it’s not the perfect church,
That’s simple to discern.
But you and I and all of us
Could cause the tide to turn.
What fools we are to flee the past
In that unfruitful search
To find, at last, where problems loom
God proudly builds his church.
