In the Parish there are a variety of Schools, six in all, catering for the education
of children within Nursery, Infants, Junior, Middle and Senior age
ranges.
There is a special needs school, for visually impaired and handicapped
children of all ages, which has obtained Science College status.
The Clergy make visits to take Assembly during a term and also attend at
seasonal festivals to lead the worship.
Individual classes from the schools may also attend educational visits
to the church as part of their curriculum.
Special services such as Harvest Festival are held at the church for
them too.
There are some church members who serve on the Governing Body of local
schools.
A
number of Volunteer members of the congregation, (who nowadays need CRB
clearance to work with children), attend weekly to assist pupils in
Literacy and Numeracy.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Are you retired and looking for
a new interest? Well look no further! Many children need help
with their literacy and numeracy AND it’s really great fun to
help. I have been going into a couple of local schools recently
and working with those that are struggling or may just need a
little help. All schools need this sort of help and will give
you a really warm welcome. If you would like to chat to me
about what a typical morning at school is like in the 21st
century give me a bell on (024) 7636 2995.
