| The area in front of St Giles was derelict for many
years. In late 1999 Mrs Betty Startin, who owned the land donated it to
St Giles church, plus a substantial amount of cash, to create a Garden of Remembrance
on the site. This has now been achieved and at the time of writing
(OCTOBER 2004) it is just entering its second autumn. It will take many
years to become fully established but is already becoming an area of
tranquility. |
