Children & Families
There’s a definite damp crispness in the air at the moment as we are heading on into Autumn and with a new season comes more exciting things in the world of Children’s and Families’ Ministry at St Giles. Thanks for popping by again to our section! We have some exciting events coming up so here’s all the information that you need to know.
We are in the final planning stages of our Harvest Messy Church which is happening (or happened depending on when you’re reading this) on the 29th September! We are looking forward to exploring all things harvest, with games, delicious food, and our guest speaker Michael Spicer. We will also be having a collection for the Foodbank at this event. With this special harvest theme, we are really hoping to plant some seeds of faith in all of our Messy Church friends!
You may remember last year we ran an All Hallows Eve Party on 31st October that was absolutely packed to the rafters. Well, this year we have decided to do it all again! So on 31st October this year, we will be having another party which will be held in our Main Church Hall from 5pm – 6.30pm and will be £1 per person. This will include some crafts, games, hot dogs, drinks, cakes, costume competition and more! Tickets need to be purchased in advance and can be obtained by emailing Jen on email@example.com. We are hoping yet again to provide somewhere safe for our local families to go on what is the ‘darkest’ night in our countries’ calendar. It should be a great deal of fun and will give us another great opportunity to speak to and build relationships with the families in our parish. If you are able to come along to the event as someone who can be present and chat to our guests, your help would be so welcome! Please drop me a message if you can, or turn up on the evening to lend a chatty hand.
Here’s some very exciting news as we start looking towards the Christmas season; after having a break of two years, the Breakfast with Santa team have decided to bring it back this year! It will take place on Saturday 7th December, from 9.30am! Tickets will be £5 for children and £3.50 for adults. The event is aimed at under 8’s and will consist of a lovely simple brekkie of toast and cereals, a visit from Santa and a special gift too. It looks to be a really lovely event and will take place in our Main Hall. If you would like to buy tickets, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the names, sexes and ages of any children, along with the names of any adults attending.
